Zhenghua JIANG, former vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and chairman of CUPC, met with the academician of the United States, Professor Marcos Feldman of Stanford University.

Professor Feldman is an old friend of the Chinese people. He has visited China more than 30 times and visited 26 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) in China. He has witnessed the development and changes of China since its reform and opening up and spoke highly of it. With invitation from CUPC, Professor Feldman conducted a study visit in Jiangsu, Anhui and Shandong. He is very impressed by China's urbanization development process of recent years, especially the protection of ancient cities and the construction of industrial parks. He has placed high expectations on the construction of small cities and towns to promote the urbanization in China. Professor Feldman said he was willing to promote exchanges and cooperation between Stanford University and CUPC to promote joint research on urbanization and humanities and other related fields.

Chairman JIANG Zhenhua highly appreciate Professor Feldman's outstanding achievements in the field of relevant research. Professor Feldman has been working to promote mutual understanding between the Chinese and American people and deepening the development of bilateral relations. Chairman JIANG believe that Professor Feldman's visit will further deepen the traditional friendship between China and the United States, and promote the development of bilateral cooperation. Chairman JIANG introduced the research and practices of CUPC on promoting the urbanization in China.  He hopes that Professor Feldman will be able to strengthen the exchanges between Stanford University and CUPC in the field of construction and management of urbanization.
